Message definition (Asphyxiating)

Asphyxiating materials are a type of {{pll|HAZMAT Cargo|HAZMAT cargo}} that can cause temporary air deprivation when {{pll|Cars & Cargo Damage|leaked}}.

Per trasportare quanto più gas possibile, molto spesso viene trasportato sotto pressione. Tuttavia, in caso di perdite, il gas si espanderà occupando un volume molto maggiore rispetto al serbatoio in cui è stato trasportato a causa dell'equalizzazione con la pressione atmosferica. Ciò può provocare la dislocazione dell'ossigeno attorno al treno, creando un potenziale rischio di soffocamento per persone e animali nelle vicinanze. Questo fenomeno è noto come asfissia.
