Message definition (Sander)

To help improve {{pll|Traction Overview|traction}}, most {{pll|Rail Vehicle Types|motorized vehicles}} come equipped with sanders. Sander is an accessory operated by a control device in the {{pll|Rail Vehicle Types|cab}}, usually in the form of a button or a lever, that deploys sand, carried onboard the vehicle, to the driving wheels.

To improve traction and help prevent wheelslip and wheelslide, most motorized vehicles carry sand onboard. By operating a control device in the cab, usually in the form of a button or a lever, the driver can deploy sand to the wheels, using a sander.
