Work trains are privately owned rail vehicles that can be acquired and used in addition to those provided by DVRT. They are:
- H1-020 (Handcar)
- Caboose
- BE2-260 (Microshunter)
- DE6-860 (Slug)
- DM1U-150 Utility Rail Vehicle
- Utility Flatcar
- Private Locomotives
For some of the work trains to become available, you need to buy keys to special garages in shops, find the garages and unlock them. For others, such as private locomotives, the process is different. Once acquired, work trains can be used freely, and never despawn. If a work train is cleared with comms radio, it will go back to its default parking location.
Being privately owned, work trains don’t go through the insurance system. Instead, they need to be serviced manually.
Work trains are typically able to be requested anywhere using the comms radio, sometimes for a fee.
