Message definition (Mechanical Transmission)

With this type of powertrain, the {{pll|Throttle|throttle}} controls the engine speed. The power from the engine is mechanically transmitted to the wheels through a gearbox.

Genom att manövrera gasreglaget justerar föraren bränsleinsprutningen till dieselmotorn och därmed rotationshastigheten på dess vevaxel. Med hjälp av en växellåda överförs kraften från motorn mekaniskt till hjulen. Växlar ändras vanligtvis manuellt med en eller flera växelspakar.
