Message definition (Steam Overview)

Firing up a steam engine from scratch is costly and can take a very long time. In Derail Valley, this startup process is sped up when the vehicle is stationary, simulating it being done in the most fuel efficient manner, until the boiler pressure reaches about 80% of its maximum capacity. The time scaling is there to drastically reduce waiting, but can be adjusted by a {{pll|Difficulty|difficulty setting}} titled Steam Startup.

Avviare una locomotiva a vapore da zero è molto costoso e può richiedere molto tempo. In Derail Valley, il processo di avvio viene accelerato quando il veicolo è stazionario, simulando un funzionamento ottimale in termini di combustibile, finché la pressione della caldaia non raggiunge circa l'80% della sua capacità massima. La velocizzazione del processo permette di ridurre drasticamente i tempi di attesa, ma può essere regolata modificando l’impostazione chiamata "Avvio locomotiva a vapore".
