Brake cutout is a valve most {{pll|Rail Vehicle Types|motorized rail vehicles}} come equipped with, that cuts their {{pll|Train Brake|train brake control valve}} from the rest of the train. This valve is typically located under the train brake control device, in the vehicle's {{pll|Rail Vehicle Types|cab}}.

Most motorized rail vehicles are equipped with a special valve that isolates their brake control device from the rest of the train. This valve is called brake cutout, and is typically located underneath the train brake control device, in the cab of the vehicle.
