Message definition (Slug)

Slugs enhance traction of vehicles with electric drivetrains by borrowing their power output to their own driven axles, too. Now with more driven axles, the main vehicle is less likely to {{pll|Powertrain Overheating|overheat}} and {{pll|Wheelslip|wheelslip}}. Slugs are most useful in situations dealing with {{pll|Weather|wet conditions}}, {{pll|Grade Signs|steep grades}}, high acceleration, such as when {{pll|Shunting|shunting}}, and similar. To use the slug, connect it to an electric drivetrain vehicle with the {{pll|Multiple-Unit|MU cable}}.

スラッグは、既存の電気機関車や電気式ディーゼル機関車のけん引力を強化するために、より多くの動力軸に出力を供給することを目的としています。スラッグを使用するには、運転士がMUケーブルで他の車両に接続する必要があります。接続された車両は、自身の主電動機とスラッグの主電動機の間で電力を分配します。このけん引力の向上により、車輪空転が起こらずに高い出力が可能となり、重い列車の入換えや急勾配の乗り越えなど、高い出力が必要な場面や雨天時にスラッグは効果を発揮します。
