The comms radio Switch mode is used to read and change track switches remotely. While at the controls of a moving train, you can aim the radio at a switch and shoot to change it.
If you own the Dispatcher license, you can also read and change switches remotely by aiming the comms radio at switch icons on schematic station or route maps.
