Caboose is a car and a work train , used as a multi-purpose crew support vehicle. To become available, the caboose needs to be unlocked from a special garage, with a key that can be bought in one of the shops .

Once unlocked, the caboose can be requested with the comms radio , for a fee , depending on the session difficulty settings . The caboose cannot be damaged and it doesn't have service costs.

Caboose has a few uses:

Spacious interior - Plenty of drawers and cupboards to store items in.
Bed - A cozy place to sleep in.
Electricity - Onboard electricty that supports gadget installation .
Athermal handbrake - A brake resilient to brake shoe overheating and wheelslide , ideal as a dynamic brake substitute.
Career manager - Integrated career manager , for use as a mobile service center .
Brake pipe gauge - A gauge to verify air line connections.
