Biohazardous materials are a type of HAZMAT cargo that may cause a national, or worldwide, health disaster when leaked. Other than potentially causing severe illness and death to those it comes in contact with, biohazardous cargo is also infectious, and its release may lead to global pandemics.
Due to the extreme level of risk involved, biohazardous cargo is usually handled by the military.
