Overheating protection is a gadget designed to prevent a motorized vehicle’s powertrain from overheating .

The gadget features a knob to set the desired maximum powertrain temperature threshold. It also features a setting to choose whether crossing the threshold will result in automatic reduction of throttle or dynamic brake , whichever is currently active, or shut down the engine , or an electric power source , altogether.

This gadget requires electrical connections to function.
